New York!

Hi

This is Janinés quilt!  A very talented lady indeed....  I love batiks and this quilt.

Christmas Elves

Hi

This is a gorgeous Christmas panel which I had fun stitching with glittery threads.  Can't believe Christmas is this close!

PS Sorry about the sideways picture, not sure how to fix it.

Adelaide

Hi

Had an absolutely fantastic time in Adelaide learning all sorts of new skills.  Best teachers including the very talented Judi Madsen.  Wow she is amazing!

This is my sample from Rachelle's class.  Hard to see the coloured thread on the flowers and leaves.  I did try out my new couching foot - it is so easy and fun to do.  Will be looking for some lovely yarns to use on some other projects.

Happy Christmas

I have just finished vliesofixing my happy reindeer for my Christmas runner.  The Quilters Angel (Highfields) sent me a kit and I just love it!!!

Helen's Hexagons

This is the border to Helen's HUGE hexagon quilt.  I used the swag ruler for the first time because of the large border area to quilt.  I highlighted the swag with gold thread.  Helen - you are amazing.  I am not sure how long it took you to make this quilt but WOW!

Birthday Gift

This is a black and white version of Steph's runner pattern.  Gave it to my niece-in-law for her 30th birthday.  I quilted it with simple lines in bright avariagated thread.

New things

Hi everyone,

Today I tried a new sashing border from a book by Sue Heinz.  I wanted it to look a bit oriental.  Looks harder than it really is.  Hope the photo isn't too hard to see.

Have a great week.

Cheers

Master Class

Hi everyone

Well I had to leave my sewing machine for a few hours yesterday and this is why!  Salted caramel popcorn macarons......  And they taste out of this world!  Had a class with a wonderful master chef and his team.  Now I know why I don't do these at home.

Thank you to all the lovely ladies who have sent messages from my blog.   It still amazes me that you can chat to people all around the world.  And that they are interested in little old me!

Now back to my sewing machine.......

Feathers

I am busy trying to get quilts done before I go on holidays.  This is Janine's quilt and I am doing feathers with some added detail, just for something different.  Lovely batiks in this quilt.  Coming soon Janine!!

Something new!

Isn't it great quilting weather!  I love this time of year.

I am in the middle of a quilt for The Quilter's Angel in Highfields and tried to do a different design for the background of the middle block.  Does this look like fluffy clouds to you?  It takes some courage to try something new but it advances your quilting and isn't so difficult once you do some practice.

This is a block of the month coming to you shortly.

Visit to Highfields

While visiting The Quilters Angel at Highfields recently, I saw a runner Steph had made and just had to make one for myself.  This is made from scraps of Japanese fabric I had made a quilt out of.  Fabulous I think!  Steph is always full of great ideas.

Visit to Toowoomba

During a recent visit to Toowoomba, I spent a fabulous afternoon with friends Bev and Pat.  Bev taught me how to do "Ribbon"quilting and Pat cooked a fabulous dinner!  I put the dark colours where I should have put the light ones, but it still looks great.  Thank you ladies for a wonderful afternoon.  You are both such an inspiration.
